Mr. Edward Soriano is currently Director, Business Development, Global Land Forces, Mission Solutions and Readiness Division, Northrop Grumman Corporation, Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this position, Mr. Soriano has overall leadership and management responsibility for marketing and business development for land forces, internationally and domestic.
Previously, Mr. Soriano was Director, Deployed Operations and International Programs. He was responsible for a diverse portfolio with over 400 employees, and four Line of Business (LOB) organizations: Linguist Operations and Services worldwide; Middle East Operations with deployed personnel throughout the region; OCONUS Operations with mobile training teams training military forces in Africa, and intelligence training and operations in both Africa and Europe; and, the Indo-Asia Pacific Region (I-APR) Operations providing training and training support to countries in the I-APR.
In his Middle East Operations, Mr. Soriano was responsible for providing Contactor Manning and Warehouse Support for the Counter – Rocket, Artillery, Mortar (CRAM) Sense and Warn System for Afghanistan and Iraq. Additionally, his Team provided security personnel in support of AFCENT air bases in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, and Oman. His Linguist Operations provided linguist services, translations, and interpreters, and provided over 150 linguist contractors worldwide. His OCONUS Operations was responsible for providing mobile training teams that trained military forces in 15 countries in Africa in support of the African Contingency Operations and Training Assistance (ACOTA), State Department, and AFRICOM. Additionally, Mr. Soriano’s Teams operated and provided intelligence training in support of AFRICOM and EUCOM under the Regional Joint Intelligence Training Facility (RJTIF) Program. The Indo -Asia Pacific Region Operations, focused on training and training support to the countries in the Region, specifically the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore.
Mr. Soriano served in the United States Army prior to joining Northrop Grumman in January 2005. Mr. Soriano retired as a Lieutenant General after 35 years of outstanding military service.
His last major command and leadership assignments (1996-2005) include: Commanding General, I Corps and Fort Lewis, WA and responsible for training and readiness of all components of a war-fighting U.S. Army Corps, projecting military power worldwide to meet national objectives and ensured I Corps readiness to execute the standing mission in the Asia Pacific region; Director of Homeland Security, U.S. Joint Forces Command and directed and developed homeland security plans to conduct operations to deter, prevent, and defeat threats and aggression aimed at the United States; Commanding General of the 7th Infantry Division & Fort Carson, Colorado, and responsible for combat readiness and welfare of two active component maneuver brigades, a Special Forces Group, two Combat Service Support Brigades, and three National Guard Enhance Separate Bdes for State force protection and deployment overseas; US Army’s Director of Operations, Readiness & Mobilization, Pentagon, responsible for development of policy and execution of actions in the major functional areas of military readiness, operations and contingency planning; Lastly, as Director, Military Support (DOMs) where he served as the DoD Executive Agent for Department of the Army and the Joint Staff for military support to civil authorities in response to WMD and natural disasters.
LTG (Ret) Soriano is an active member of the Colorado Springs community and is affiliated with a number of organizations in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He currently serves on a number of volunteer Boards that includes the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the USO Board, the AUSA Board of Advisors, and the Colorado Professional Golf Association Section Board of Trustees. He is also currently President and Chair of the Mountain Post Historical Center Association, Colorado Springs, CO, and Vice Chair of the Colorado Springs Combined Federal Campaign Board. He previously served as the Chair of the Military Affairs Council (MAC) of the Greater Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Pikes Peak Community College Foundation, The Home Front Cares Foundation, Air Force Academy Foundation, Thanks Troops Foundation, Wells Fargo Bank Community Board, and Goodwill Board of Directors. He is a member of the Colorado Thirty Group, Pikes Peak Round Table, the 4th Infantry Division Association, and The Association of the United States Army, Fort Carson.
Mr. Soriano holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Management from San Jose State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri. Mr. Soriano is married and he and his wife Vivian currently reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
